I am currently a senior biology major at Drexel University. I have aspirations to go to medical school and one day to become a pediatric anesthesiologist. I love working with children and babysit my second cousins whenever I am home and my family needs my help (ages 9,8,7,5, and 3). I had an internship in Boston for 6 months with the Brigham and Women's Hospital, which when I wasn't working I nannied for a family 3-4 days a week with 2 boys, age 10 and 12 years. Aside from babysitting experience, I currently volunteer at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and I work with the child life services, which entails playing with the children in the playroom or making room visits when they are unable to come to the playroom. I also volunteer at the Governor Mifflin YMCA (near my hometown) with the summer camp program they run and with Read more their before/after school care. Having experienced working with/taking care of children in various settings, I have gained a lot of knowledge on how to communicate with children and make sure they are having fun. Personally, I am an avid volleyball player and I play on Drexel's women's club team, as well as I coach for my old High School team and I've coached 14 year olds for the club team Philadelphia Volleyball Academy. Now with all of that said, Drexel has a co-op program where you work for six months. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with an anesthesiologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital for a research assistant position through Harvard's Medical School. WIth that said, I have never been to Boston and the position is only for 20 hours a week (the 20 hours are to be completed at my convenience, so again flexible). I am looking for nannying position so that I could not only get acclimated to the area better, but also I have a very flexible schedule that would allow me to work as a nanny. However, babysitting is also ideal for me since it wouldn't be an all day thing. I have gone through numerous trainings on how to give children CPR, first aid, among others. I am currently living in University City and please let me know if you are interested!
