Hello! I've loved working with young people since I was in middle school, when I ran a camp for neighborhood children in my backyard. Since then, I've babysat and nannied consistently; most recently working for four families in Ohio and Michigan, the last two places I've lived. I love following the lead of the young people I work for as they play, create worlds, make art or music, tell stories, learn skills, or share their feelings. I have strong background in youth allyship work & counseling skills, encouraging youth to feel empowered about their decisions, thinking, and expression. I'm also always passionately learning about and applying an anti-oppression framework (I studied race, class, gender and other power structures at Oberlin College), and am used to working with families with diverse identities. I am a musician (piano, voice, and guitar), a writer, and an artist. I love to play, and I'm Read more also responsible, reliable, and communicative. I'm good at the bottom-line skills that make life easier for parents, like cleaning, cooking, and driving (though I do not yet have a car in Boston). I've worked with young people of all ages, from 10 mos. to 13 yrs, and I love the different challenges and rewards that come with each age bracket.
