Hi, I'm Kaila! I'm 24 years old and have 8 years of paid childcare experience. For 2+ years during high school, I worked as an afterschool/weekends/summer babysitter for a toddler boy. For 4 years, I worked as a professional childcare provider and teacher assistant at a daycare while I was completing my undergraduate degree. At the daycare I worked with infants as young as 6 weeks to elementary school-aged children in the joint afterschool program. For 9+ years, I have also worked as a tutor, both paid and volunteer, for children as young as kindergarten, to middle grades, high school (including standardized test prep) and beyond into college, so I'm very comfortable providing homework help. In the summer of 2021, I worked as a live-in nanny for my sister as she returned to work following the completion of her maternity leave and performed all relevant childcare duties with an infant. I have a BA in both Psychological Science (specializing in Child Psychology) and Educational Studies, and I'm currently getting my PhD in Developmental and Educational Psychology. I am Red Cross certified in Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid, and I'm fully COVID vaccinated and boosted. I also have a car and a clean driving record, and I'm currently living in Allston. I'm very patient and flexible and I absolutely love working with children of all ages! From both academic and applied perspectives, I'm passionate about promoting the wellbeing of children and fostering their learning and development!
