I have worked with children and their families in a varitey of capacities from babysitting as a youth, running my own daycare, working in a center based day care and as a Parent Educator out in the community! I am currently employed as a private care nanny since 2013 and have been with my current family for close to 5 years. I am extremely responsible and reliable and have a safe driving record in case transportation is part of your job description. I love doing firled trips and am a huge fan of local libraries! If children are older, playing games and crafting are a fun piece to add in if time allows for it. I can prepare meals when needed. I was a certified breast feeding counselor and am familiar with handling breast milk. I prefer not to use electronics to occupy children although a family movie on a Read more snowy day with popcorn is always fun! In good weather, I prefer to get outside into the sunshine and explore nature. Even the little tikes enjoy a fragrant dandelion or starting a rock collection! Summertime must include water play or a trip to a lake if that is acceptable. I consider myself accomodating and flexible. I do believe in keeping a scheduled day because it is better for children. I also take discipline seriously so that children will feel safe with me and they get accustomed to limit setting. That said, I am also quick to laugh and get goofy with them because children are natural comedians and wear their hearts on their sleeves. These are just a few things that endear me to them!
