Hello! Thanks for visiting my profile! I am a former infant/toddler teacher who has moved into in-home care as a result of COVID-19. I have worked in the field since March 2018 and have completed coursework in Early Childhood Education as well as an extensive amount of professional development in various areas. I hold a current certification in Infant & Adult CPR/First Aid/AED as well as an infant/toddler teacher certification through the state. My favorite ages to be with are definitely older toddlers and preschoolers! Their curiosity and enthusiasm for life is refreshing against the often hum-drum of the adult world. My previous co-workers and employers would describe me as creative, quick-thinking, and enthusiastic. I am a huge proponent of as much fresh air as possible- rain, snow, muck & mud, and shine- as well as play-based, child-led education. Integrating academic and social/emotional concepts in a natural way is so Read more important to development. I love sensory play, music & movement, dramatic play, process art, and reading countless books a day in funny (and awful) accents. I am not afraid to look crazy! I am always dancing right along to the music (Raffi is my man!), laying on the floor, and morphing into a human jungle gym. Providing anti-bias/progressive education and answering the big questions about life (both good and bad) in an age appropriate way is so important to me as a caregiver and as an adult helping shape a new generation. I am looking to work as a team with families of the children in my care. Establishing open avenues of communication is incredibly important to me in order to provide the best environment for all of us and the most enriching experience for your children. I look forward to hearing about any goals for the children, important customs to the family, and being open to concerns at any time. I currently care for 4 children aged from preschool to early elementary from two families as part of share. I will be with them until the end of June and will be looking to start with a new family/families in early July. I do not hold a driver’s license and would depend on public transportation to commute. I am COVID conscious- limiting my trips and time out as well as only socializing with family masked and outdoors. I am looking to make a long-term commitment to the right family and be a caring partner through the "growing pains" and triumphs of childhood. Please reach out! I look forward to hearing from you.
