Hi! My name is Sabrina and I am a 21 year old college student. I am currently in my last year of University studying Early Childhood Education and History. I have been working in childcare since the age of 13, starting at the Bridgewater after school programs. I was given the opportunity to bring my career into nannying in 2017 when a family I had known from school programs reached out and offered me a private nanny position. This position was to look after two children, 1 and 5 years old. During my time with them I had several responsibilities to uphold. While free time was available I would do laundry, light housekeeping, meal preparations, diapering, look after pets, and do grocery shopping or bringing the kids to their grandparents. After their relocation and the end of me providing care in 2019, I continued working at South Shore Stars. Here Read more is where I continued employment alongside schooling. Although some find balancing both work and school to be difficult, I do not see my work as a job. I enjoy everything I work towards which makes my work fun everyday. I have been outwardly grateful and appreciative of the opportunities that I have been given. These opportunities hold a massive hand in the career I have pursued. While working in Bridgewater, Braintree, and Weymouth, I have gained an appreciation for our youth educators and providers. I find that the education and work I have been given to be inspirational and have set standards and practices that I hope to use to continue to impact our youth. I learned the importance of a balanced and inclusive learning environment.
