I have ample experience caring for children in a variety of contexts. As the oldest sibling of a family of 4, I have taken care of my younger siblings in capacities that include development, nurturing, homework and school help, and I have served as a mentor. In a professional setting, I have spent almost two years in a public school system as a long term substitute teacher for grades 5-8th. The requirements of this job included lesson planning, one on one help, embedding rigor and teaching leadership. In 2012, I served as an AmeriCorps member and served at a Boys & Girls club. I had the opportunity to create programs as well as co-facilitate programs for youth ages 8-18. I have recently got accepted into a nursing program and have earned a Child development credential. I am becoming CPR train in the middle of May 2017.
