I have years of experience working with children of all ages ranging from 7 months to 12+ years (primarily preschool through age 10). I have been caring for children for about 10 years. I am a dependable, organized, and energetic individual that has experience from numerous babysitting jobs, a summer nanny position, and several teacher assistant positions and an internship in an elementary and middle school setting. I was a summer nanny for children ages 4, 7, and 9 and provided guidance in a rewarding and positive environment. I supervised the children, which included driving them to and from extra-curricular activities, preparing meals, assisting the children with summer reading and math assignments, pool supervision, and cleaning. I have a variety of interests and like to read and play games. I enjoy playing outside, sports, and board games. It is important for me to keep the children busy, engaged, and safe. Read more As a teacher's assistant for preschoolers, 1st graders, and 2nd graders, I have worked with children that had behavioral and emotional difficulties as well as assisted children that needed help on their schoolwork. I was an intern for an adjustment counselor/school social worker this past summer and assisted with daily group counseling sessions for children ranging from pre-kindergarten to 6th grade. We played board games and I implemented activities that reviewed social skills and therapeutic techniques. I had the opportunity to lead various arts and crafts activities that required patience, creativity, and attentiveness. I am graduating this May with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minors in Social Work, Family Development, Sociology, and Women & Gender Studies from the University of Dayton. I will be continuing my education this fall as I work towards receiving my Masters of Social Work and licensure as a School Social Worker at Simmons College.
