Hello! I am actively seeking summer work from June 1 through September 1, 2017 (these dates may be flexible), as well as occasional babysitting work throughout the school year. Since September 2008, I have worked as a professional ballet dancer with Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre (JMBT) in Harvard Square. In May 2014, I graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in English, Extension Studies. I am currently pursuing a Master of Liberal Arts degree in English, Extension Studies, from Harvard. My professional work as an educator began in 2010 when I joined JMBT's teaching faculty as an instructor of ballet. I have since taught a variety of classes for students of all ages, experience-levels, and backgrounds, from preschool to high school-age students, and even adult students of JMBT's open class programs. My work as a dance instructor for JMBT has expanded beyond the classroom Read more and into such responsibilities as organizing rehearsals and supervising children backstage at performances/dance-related events. I have also been a member of the teaching faculty at Bridget Keddy's Dance Studio in Braintree and Norwell, where I have instructed students ages 8-18 of the BDS competitive dance teams. In 2016, I joined the teaching faculties of South Shore Ballet Theatre in Hanover, MA and the Weymouth Club's Dance with Energy program in Weymouth, MA. Outside of the dance world, I do have experience as a caretaker in a home setting. I am the proud aunt and frequent babysitter of a niece (age 11) and two nephews (ages 9 and 5). As a cat owner, dog-sitter, and animal lover, I am glad to care for pets. I would also be comfortable performing light housework, simple meal preparation, and homework help. I am a lifelong Hingham resident, and am very familiar with the South Shore and Greater Boston. I own my own car and am able to provide transportation. I also have several years of babysitting experience for families in the South Shore area via Sittercity.com, for which I can provide references upon request. Having pursued a college degree while working full-time as a professional dancer and instructor, I have gained excellent time-management skills, and an ability to remain focused in a high activity environment.
