Hi! My name is Megan. I am 27 years old and I live in the Hillcrest area of San Diego. I graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Psychology. I currently work as a behavior interventionist with children with developmental delays. I am passionate about childcare and I have an abundance of childcare experience. I have been babysitting and nannying for 10 years for children of various ages (infants to age 12), and have cared for up to 5 children at the same time. I have led reading groups with second and third grade students and tutored elementary and middle school-aged children in a variety of subjects. I have also worked as a youth development counselor for children with severe behavioral issues. I have lots of experience working with children with special needs, mental disorders, and trauma as well. I am CPR and first aid certified Read more and I have my own car and a clean driving record. I love to play board games, read books, do arts and crafts, and play outside with kids. We hired Megan to babysit our two kids, aged 5 and 9, during our vacation in the Berkshires. I am always nervous about that kind of hire, but I found it reassuring that Megan had worked at the school my sister's kids attend (and had thus been CORI checked) and a family friend who knew her well had kind things to say about her. Our Skype interview confirmed she has the experience to handle kids with all kinds of behavior, a great help when it came to my kids' sibling rivalry, and the jitters they encounter when settling into a vacation house, meeting a new sitter, etc.. Megan did great with my kids despite all these conditions. Plus, she left the house in order. I would hire her again in a heartbeat.
