I am 29 years old, love kids, and lately I've been having major baby fever! Sadly, my partner wants to wait at least 2 years before we start a family, so I would love to care for another family in the meantime. I have years of experience working with children, although most of it was during my high school and college days. I have experience babysitting, teaching horseback riding to autistic youth, supervising lunch/ recess in an elementary school, reading books to at-risk elementary kids, teaching electrical engineering to elementary kids, teaching reading skills to kids of all ages (6 - 18), and most recently, supervising kids age 12-16 at a behavioral health center. The reading skills position was a very illuminating one, as I was a head teacher and learned all about the stages of reading levels for each grade. I also learned a lot from the behavioral health Read more center - these kids have major challenges with oppositional defiance and other mental health disorders. Lastly, I am in a masters program for couples and family therapy, where I have learned a lot about how to treat children in the therapy room. I recently took a class in childhood development.
