I'm an artist who loves hanging out with kids. Their imaginations are limitless and they are open to so many different things, I believe it's important to show them all the possibilities you know and let them show you the ones you never even thought of. My first real job was as a nanny for a year and a half to twin infants and then was a live in nanny for them for about one year when they were 7. I have a lot of patience and try never to raise my voice except in excitement, I have found that staying calm and talking softly forces them to calm themselves just to be able to hear what I'm saying. Not foolproof by any means, but a helpful tool. I've also spent almost 10 years in food service, so handling tantrums is a bit of a specialty of mine.
