Hello! My name is Melissa and I am currently a preschool teacher at a corporate company looking for a change of pace. I have been working in childcare for almost 6 years with two big-name industry companies, gaining invaluable experience in the childcare field, and truly discovering my passion/calling for working with children. Yet, I feel as if my current placement does not fully align with my personal values nor career aspirations. I would love to be able to make a bigger difference in a few lives rather than a small difference in many. I am a proud mom of a beautiful young girl who is 10 years old and a tortoiseshell kitten, who are both the apple of my eye! Throughout my college career I have taken many early childhood and Elementary education courses and completed numerous internships. In 2017 I earned my Associate’s degree with highest honors. I Read more am currently working towards my Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts with a minor in Elementary education. My favorite activity to do with my kids is arts and crafts 🖌️🎨 (crafting, painting, drawing, multimedia, graphic arts, photography, etc!) and nature exploration. I would be thrilled and honored to be able to pursue my dreams and make a difference in your child(ren)’s life! My Philosophy 🏫📜💕 My care will always be centrally guided by the idea of treating each and every child with unwavering dignity and respect; to see them as unique and valuable individuals who hold the potential to succeed and do incredible things! I wish to cultivate meaningful relationships with the children and families in my care; constantly working towards creating a positive/supportive environment where they know they will always be listened to, sincerely cared for, and made to feel smart, capable, and important.
