Meet Leanne

  • Comfortable with pets
  • Has a car

I myself am a kid at heart. I enjoy going to the park and playing on the equipment with the children. I enjoy going to museums watching the kids be able to learn hands on. I also enjoy staying in doing art projects, baking cookies, reading books or building a tent in the living room for an indoor camping trip.  I like to be able to be out and about and not confined to the house it can be a playgroup on just an adventure on our own.

Leanne babysat my 10-month-old son on very short notice. As most parents are, I am extremely nervous about leaving my baby with a complete stranger. Leanne immediately allayed my fears. I could tell right away that she was mature, responsible, kind, fun, and highly experienced. She needed to be shown the ropes but not told how to do anything. Best of all, she was able to forge a trusting bond with my son almost immediately. My son is independent and initially quiet. He plays very well by himself and doesn't need or want high-intensity, frantic baby play right off the bat. Lee was able to intuit this almost immediately and sat back and let him be himself--a quality I'm finding more and more to be rare in a babysitter. Lee would be a warm, competent, and totally reliable nanny for any family.

I am pleased to recommend Lee for future babysitting/nanny positions. My family was first connected with Lee 3 months ago, at which time she began taking care of our 8 week old daughter. Lee demonstrated complete competency in her care for children and we are grateful for the difference she has made in our lives. As a new mom, Lee made me feel comfortable, which was of utmost importance. I write the highest recommendation for Lee because she is responsible, dedicated, honest and hard-working. While Lee is extremely loving and nurturing, she is also active and stimulating, which are all superb qualities. Lee took care of our newborn as if she was her own and for all of these reasons I recommend Lee, without reservation, for future positions. Lee will be missed by our family and you will be lucky to have her be a part of yours.

Lee took care of our sons (now aged 15 months and 6¾) from Fall, 2009 to June, 2010. She has taken care of each boy individually as well as the two of them together, providing both regularly scheduled child care and occasional evening sitting. While we are very sad that Lee is leaving our area (Chapel Hill, NC), we are delighted to recommend her as a childcare provider of the highest quality. Lee has taken excellent, age-appropriate care of both of our children, and has done so with warmth, humor and creativity. She has been unfailingly reliable, diligent, courteous and thoughtful, and tolerated our occasional chaos. She listened to us, respected the rules and routines in our home, and communicated her own needs and desires clearly as well. Beyond all of those basic, and most important aspects to her work, Lee also consistently went the extra mile. She was happy to come on short notice when her schedule allowed it, washed any dishes she had used in meal preparation, and even folded laundry for us. In short, Lee has been an excellent sitter for us, and we recommend her without reservations. If you have questions about her work with our sons, we are lanfel on sittercity.com. Feel free to e-mail us.
