Hello! My name is Ashley. I am 25 years old and I live in Somerville. I am very alert, but not over-bearing. I am funny, determined, reliable, nurturing and extremely organized. I often get asked about my newborn experience. I have 2 years of newborn experience from a daycare. I have experience with handling and thawing breast milk, handling and measuring formula. I have experience with cloth diapers and disposables as well. I love doing tummy time and bicycle legs to ensure gross motor skills are being developed. One thing I think is very important is staying in touch with the parents throughout the day (if they'd like to!) I love sending pictures of our day to the parents and I'm always reachable via phone call or text. I also keep a daily written log of the day in a three ring binder. I log all meals, diaper changes/bathroom trips, Read more activities, books we've read, any milestones hit & naps. Currently, I nanny for a family in Cambridge with two kids: two boys (ages 18m and 1m). The oldest boy goes to daycare Monday-Friday, so I work two shifts; morning (7:30-10am) and night (5pm-8:30) and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I work some hours in between. (This flexibility allows me to run my photography business on the side, which is awesome). We keep a daily schedule and love to go on daily adventures. We love to explore the city, visit the Children’s Museum, take trips to LegoLand, attend StoryTime at our local library, and even go on occasional breakfast/lunch dates. We also do lots of reading, arts and crafts, letters & numbers, and check out local indoor playgrounds on rainy days (Imagine in Cambridge is a great one). Every day is an adventure, and that’s what I love most about nannying. I have over 5+ years of experience with children of all ages ranging from newborn to teens. I have experience with multiples, behavioral and special needs children. I also have lots of experience in potty training! I am First Aid and CPR/AED certified. I'm seeking a long-term FT position (would have to allow 4 weeks notice to my current family). My ideal family will allow me to take care of their children as if they were my own, while allowing me to become a friend and a part of the family for years to come.
