Hello there! My name is Julie and I am a MA licensed art teacher with 6 years of teaching experience in public schools and many years of camp, nanny and sitting experience. I have worked with children with both typical and special needs, from infants to high school seniors, and everything in between! Currently I am teaching art at Hill House community Center in Beacon Hill, to students ranging in age from 14 months to 9 years. I also provide art and cooking classes to elementary age students in Somerville and Boston. As a result, I have endless fun games, crafts and activities to engage your child... they will be so busy learning and having fun, they'll forget the TV exists! I am very big on "doing," moving, and making, for myself and any kids I work with. I particularly enjoy caring for infants and watching them discover the world. Read more My favorite infant activities are going new places, walking outside and talking, pointing out things we see or hear, reading, singing and even doing special "infant-friendly" art projects. All activities and interactions are intended to stimulate their developing brain. They call me the "baby whisperer" in certain circles, and I've been known to sing a teething baby to sleep in a loud room full of people. I am comfortable and confident with all ages and I am very committed to building wonderful, positive relationships with the children and families I work with.  I am very energetic, enthusiastic and I'm coming up with new, constructive, creative activities every day to interest children of all needs and personalities. References available upon request. I hope to meet your family and see if we may be a fit!

Julie- is lovely, kind, smart, and easy going. My daughter adores her- calls her "auntie Julie", my infant son also loves her.

Julianna was an excellent sitter for my children. I used her for an weekday evening, and she arrived with an armload of crafts. After helping my kids with their homework, she helped them make oragami and paper snowflakes - which are still on my window. Julie is very responsible and has a true passion for kids! I would definitely recommend her.
