Caring for and teaching children has been an important part of my life since teenage years. Babysitting, studying Early Childhood and Elementary Education in college for over two years before changing to English, volunteering in the preschool on campus, assistant teaching in a one room schoolhouse on an island for three years, focusing on the K-6th students, as well as a Montessori school in a primary classroom (3-6year olds), also for three years (jobs eliminated because of lower enrollment), and caring for my godson every day for 10 years (a highlight of my life!) are some of my experiences. Providing clear but not rigid boundaries, loving support and gentle direction when needed/wanted in each child's discovery of the world around them are my goals. The process of learning how to navigate the world can be frustrating as well as joyful. Dealing positively with frustration is an important piece.
