Hey Parents! My name is Liz McDonough, and I live in Annapolis, MD. I am infant-focused career nanny with 10 years of full-time experience. I’ve used Sittercity since 2009, and I have over a decade of childcare experience. I have stellar references, and I have been trained in child/infant CPR, choking prevention and crisis intervention (although, with COVID, I haven’t been able to renew my CPR certificate). I also completed an internship where I worked with preschool-age refugees. My driving record is spotless, and I’m an excellent cook. I can help you get organized, and keep the house together. I am a skilled professional, and completely reliable. Kids are imaginative, creative, silly and fun. This is the best! I love working with kids because I feel like I have a positive influence in their development, and I have fun every day that I'm at work! I'm good at art projects and Read more creative play and I have a lot of patience. I’m calm and easy to be around, and since I work mainly with infants and toddlers, I know that establishing simple boundaries early helps our little ones develop into happy, confident kids. My philosophy on discipline has been shaped by my research and implementation of suggestions from “Mr. Rodgers Parenting Book” and “Love and Logic Magic.” I believe that setting clear expectations with simple consequences is the best way to help a child learn boundaries and learn how to interact with society. I am a relaxed and happy person and I’m recently engaged! She and I are currently planning to reschedule our October 2020 wedding. My family is local and very important to us. When we’re not in the middle of a pandemic, we spend lots of time with my sisters, brother in laws, niece, nephews and parents. Currently, I’m looking for part-time work with a family that maintains strict COVID safety guidelines, and is willing to be transparent about their behavior. I am currently in a pod with my sister and her family so that I can watch my nephew. All of us work from home and are happy to discuss our plan to keep each other safe. Thank you for your interest! Liz

Liz has taken phenomenal care of my 11 month old son for the past two months. She reads to him, sings to him, takes him to the park, and keeps him giggling the whole time. He's not always great with new people, but she won him over immediately. She's bright, responsible and punctual, as well as flexible. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.

There is a lot of anxiety that goes along with leaving your child with a stranger, but Liz made us feel at ease the moment she walked in our door. She has a very friendly and outgoing personality. Most importantly, our "slow to warm up to strangers" daughter, took to her right away. As you can see from her profile, Liz has a great deal of experience with children of all ages. We are grateful that we found Liz and recommend her to any parent looking for well rounded and experienced babysitter.
