I have 6 years of experience as a sitter, working with infants, toddlers, young children, up to teen-age. I am happy to help with studies or educational play, and can help with light housework and meals. I have a lot of energy, which is helpful when working with energetic children, and I know how to listen to them and ensure their energy is directed into healthy and safe (and educational!) play. I understand the importance of listening to children and responding to them, helping build their communication skills and reasoning. I know that this can be difficult when a child has special needs and may communicate in their own way, but as a neurodivergent individual with several autistic (and occasionally nonverbal) friends, I have a lot of experience picking up on the ways that others may communicate. When I sit or nanny, I bring an energetic perspective, listening to them Read more and encouraging reading and play. I have an understanding of disabilities and special-needs, (including but not limited to the experience of children with autism/autistic children, and experience with severe allergies). I would love to learn about your child(ren) and how I can best care for them. I have two commitments where I would be unavailable—July 14-27 (most likely), and potentially one in mid-August (about a week). I am happy to keep in touch about those, and also be a backup sitter if you go with someone else! As of July 2 I will have a certificate from the Red Cross in Pediatric and Adult First Aid/CPR/AED
