My name is Milica Sarah, I studied graphic design and I like to work with children. I've been in child care for over 14 years. I took care of kids all ages, from infants to teenagers. I've also worked with couple high profile families in DMV area, mostly Politicians and Financial Advisors. With toddlers we mainly played inspiring games, puzzles, or the ones from Mensa books for advanced child development; we would also read books, watch cartoons, and walk outdoors in nice weather. I was devoted to prepare healthy meals for them, with lots of carrots, celery, peas, and to present that as interesting dishes, good for growth and for becoming stronger, and games winner. Sometimes we would listen to the music, and dance spontaneously, or else, in the morning hours, we would do some fitness exercises for children. I taught them many songs, and introduced creative drawing, coloring, and Read more sculpturing with modeling clay, being as respectful of their opinions and ideas, as I would have been of adults. Very often we played in the sand, or went to amusement parks, or internet games, or to sports fields where we would run, and play ball. It was also very important to activate their sense of duties and to, for example, have their room tidied together, as to develop their team work spirit. They are all clever and lively children. I like to spend time with them and I look after them whenever their parents are too busy. I think of ways to let them have fun and be animated. For me, babysitting is a great opportunity to spend time in an interesting way, encouraging children to play, learn, and develop, but where I also learn a lot from them, their reactions, the way they express their feelings, adopt some behavioral patterns and develop into healthy and good social beings. Although it is frequently very demanding and requires a lot of patience and devotion, sometimes even resolute attitude, I still find it awarding. In addition, I believe that looking after children, and participating in development of their capacities to become good people, is a very respectable and earnest engagement. During my childcare experience I adopted many skills, some of which are negotiating with children, empathy, respectfulness and mutual trust building. As a cook, one of my goals in childcare is also preparing healthy food, with lots of vegetables and fruit. As a sportsperson, I find it important to incite children to participate in sports, through different games and activities.
