my name is Destany Marie and I’m a 19 year old college student going for a degree in radiology. I have 2 younger siblings and have been babysitting for family , friends , and people they’ve referred to me since I was about 13 years old. I love sports and nature, i grew up in ballet, gymnastics, and playing softball and love to do outdoor activities with little ones even if it’s something small like a walk. I took 2 child development classes in high school and am CPR certified. I have experience with most mild types of autism in kids & pre teens and am open to learning more and doing more jobs in that area. my little brother among most of the boys I watch from ages 3 and up have mild to extreme ADHD and It’s something I like to study in my free time. I am Read more well equipped and experienced in that area and have came up with many stimulating games and techniques to keep them occupied 24/7. I know melt downs are sometimes bound to happen no matter what and I have researched lots of calm down methods as well but I have noticed it differs greatly from child to child , I have came up with some of my own I think work great as well but I love getting to know each child and learning what works best for them! last but not least infants and toddlers are my favorite because I have watched such different little personalities! for some people they tend to be the most intimidating but I love them. some smaller children required me to sleep with them or listen to them breathe while they sleep (i know it sounds weird) but there is medical instances lots of the time that require close attention like this & it usually goes away in its own as they grow. same goes for almost constant or constant crying with infants. I love to read books and cook!! I took 7 years of Spanish which is mentionable but I will say my speaking isn’t amazing. when it comes to pre-teens I consider myself very experienced with things like anxiety, depression, irritability and even eating disorders. I have noticed no matter the age gender or illness the way they deal with things and way I treat them differs, I must take time to learn each child individually, what works best for them and I love doing so. I love helping children learn at every stage of their little lives and continuing to learn from them when I least expect it! cleaning is my favorite thing to do to occupy myself which might sound crazy but i am great at multi tasking and am open to household and specific chores that need to be done.
