My name is Danette Saunders and I am 25 years old. I graduated from Delaware State University in 2009 with a Bachelors degree in Social work. I was an early education major for two years at a local community college before I transferred out. My fiancee and I recently found out that we are expecting our first child in May 2012 so I plan to work until early March. I currently Nanny for a family of two boys ages 15 months and four. I have been with the family for 1 full year and absolutely love what I do. I met the family in 2010 when I had the opportunity to run an in-home daycare out of my partners home. When we decided not to re-open at the end of our one years lease I offered to stay with my family and became their Nanny for the following year. I have been Read more caring for children since I was sixteen years old from the ages of 4 months to 9 years old. I am not against television or videogames, I just feel that when I'm only with a child for a short period of time, that should not be our only activity within that time frame. There may be times, especially around the holidays when I bring my own crafts and activities. I do believe that communication is key in a working relationship, especially when children are involved and I am always open to new ideas. I have worked with children with ADD/ADHD and autism and am more than willing and able to adapt to just about any environment. In the near future I plan to open an in-home daycare of my own! I am excited to meet new families and join in on new experiences!
