Hello and thanks for checking out my profile. I'm a retired 59yo mom to three young adults who aren't anywhere close to having kids, which is a problem because I LOVE children and teenagers. I wound up raising my kids mostly as a single parent due to serious health issues that affected my late husband, and I remember well how stressful parenting can be. I like being busy and am currently helping out at my friend's law firm, but would prefer to work with children and support overloaded parents instead - my Nana Energy needs an outlet! A few more key points: * I'm very grateful to report that my three children, all in their 20s now, are doing fine and we have good relationships. You're welcome to talk to any of them for an unvarnished, candid report on how I treat children. * I have a BA and a Read more master's degree in public policy. * I love being outside and taking kids to explore nature. * I love my senior dog and pretty much any animal. * I love doing creative activities with kids. * I'm vegan and not very skilled at cooking non-vegetarian food, but happy to try. * I am committed to treating people with kindness and respect, apologize readily when I miss that mark, and generally expect the same treatment. * About parenting styles: I practiced attachment parenting with my kids. I do *not* judge other parents - parenting is too hard for that - but I don't think I could handle letting a baby "cry it out" for longer than five minutes or so, and even that would be hard for me.
