I am a full-time student at the University of Maryland, College Park Honors College that is seeking a summertime job as a nanny. I spent the past two summers as a full-time nanny for two girls in the 5-7 and 8-11 age ranges. As their nanny, I provided transportation, prepared meals, did light housekeeping, entertained the children, and provided help with reading, writing, and math skills. I am willing to provide all of these services as part of my duty as a nanny. I have my own car for transportation and am available for overnight care. In addition, throughout my senior year of high school, I volunteered as a nurse's aid in the pediatric ward of Union Hospital in Elkton, Maryland. As a nurse's aid, I fed patients, monitored younger patients, entertained patients, helped communicate between nurses and families and cleaned and organized workspaces. Thus, I have ample experience with children of a variety of ages and feel that I would be an excellent full-time nanny to any family. I also own cats and one dog, so I am comfortable and experienced with pets. As a nanny, I find it important to come up with creative activities for the kids such as crafts, science projects, and physical activities for the children. I also find it important to be a fun and energetic nanny for the children that I watch. I am also a ballet dancer, so for any children interested in dance I am also willing to give them dance lessons as their nanny. I became a nanny because I have always been passionate about caring for children and I truly enjoy getting to play with and do activities with the children I watch. I aspire to become a pediatrician because I love children and helping others, and I believe nannying helps me prepare to become a pediatrician. I believe the more experience I have with children, the better.I am highly educated and responsible. I am an honors student at the University of Maryland double majoring in public health science and economics, and I graduated high school as my class valedictorian. I also work with the Maryland LEAD program, dance with the classical dance ensemble, participate in Terpservice and alternative breaks, am a member of sigma kappa sorority, and am a member of the circle of sisterhood foundation.
