Hi there! My name is Brendel Mitchell and I have a passion for supporting and uplifting my community. In 2022 I made a career shift. I decided to become a birth and postpartum doula after doing one semester of an MSW program as I had intended on becoming a social worker. Right now, I am currently in training to become a certified doula. I am very passionate about holistic and integrative healthcare and community support. It takes a village! I am an extremely sensitive, empathetic, nurturing human being and I believe I have been given purpose to help others. I am incredible with kids, animals, and people in general and that is where my focus is now. I am looking for a family that I can support and care for where the schedule allows me time to finish my accreditation! I hope to connect soon :) A little background about Read more me: I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology-Anthropology and Criminal Justice in 2018. While doing undergrad I worked for a pre-school program working with 1.5-2 year olds and I loved it! Towards the end of undergrad I then shifted into working with adults and children with autism for a few years which was absolutely life-changing. I continued on to being a youth advocate for young adults with mental health and/or substance abuse challenges and most recently I worked as a support planner for a medicaid program for those with disabilities who needed long term care. How did I get to nannying now? In 2022 I begun a MSW program because my plan was to become a social worker but by the time the semester was over, I realized I had many problems with how the system works and the ways in which I would be forced to operate that limited my ability to truly help people how I envisioned. I have a lot to offer others and I enjoy the cycle of learning and teaching that occurs with each person I meet and experience I have.
