About Me My name is Nikki and I am currently a stay-at-home mom to a 2-year-old daughter and 4-month old son. I have 10 years of professional childcare and preschool teaching experience, a bachelor’s degree in Family Sciences, and worked the past 4 years as a full-time nanny. My Care Philosophy When caring for children, I like to keep a daily report about feedings, diaper changes, and activities for parents to have a clear idea of how the day has gone. I am very schedule oriented and find that children really thrive when they can expect what is coming next throughout the day. As your child grows, I think it is important to have a "school time" set for each day where we read, sing songs, do art projects, and have sensory activities. We work on fine motor and gross motor skill activities as well each day. I also believe Read more it is important to get outside and explore. We own a county park pass so that we may visit all the parks on a regular basis for play time and nature walks. I have always supported learning sign language along with spoken language as it seems to assist with having less tantrums. When children learn to sign, they can communicate their needs or wants easier and it lessens the frustration they might experience. Availability I would love to welcome your child into my home anytime between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday. If you would like one-on-one care or babysitting, I am available Monday-Friday 5 p.m. to midnight, and open to any Saturday or Sunday hours. I am extremely flexible with a good amount of notice.
