Technical details: I am a warm, upbeat 22 year old college graduate with a B.S. degree in Psychology. I am certified in First Aid and CPR, and have had training in behavior management and reinforcement principles (specifically for working with children on the Autism spectrum, but they can be used effectively with any child). I have had a background check in the last year (for a previous job) which came back 100% clean. Personal/experiential details: I first started developing my skills as a childcare provider beyond a "date-night" sitter in the summer of 2008, when I accepted a position taking care of a 6 month old girl 3 days a week. I grew with this girl and her family (she has 4 older siblings), and even today, as I did then, I am so proud to see each of those kids accomplishing goals and achieving new milestones. Over the years Read more I've worked with a few families fairly regularly in varying capacities, from a Nanny type position as described above, to a mother's helper and occasional babysitter position for a family of 3 boys, one of whom is considered special needs. My experiences have allowed me to care for and connect with children ages 6 months to 17 years old, and by far my favorite activities have become those that have all the children engaged: working, learning, and having fun together.
