I am a COTA/L (board certified and State licensed occupational therapy assistant) in a school system with experience with typically developing and special needs students. Previous employments: Educational Technician, EMT, shift manager, operations manager, and customer service. Lots of experience with students and families with communication barriers. I am also a proud parent and wife of two firefighters. I will provided movement activities (hopping, skipping, swimming, jumping rope, chasing bubbles, hill rolling) and other structured table top activities (arts and crafts, cooking, reading, free time, puzzles, etc). I can provide as many or as few options as you would prefer. This is a team effort and the children's safety and interests come first. My personal preference is to limit screen time and to do other independent/cooperative games/activities. It's important for children to learn to be gracious losers, encouraging team members, and to be able to enjoy competing against themselves vs Read more always winning or finishing first. I enjoy the outdoors and photography. My family is busy with horse, ducks, chickens, and dogs. Sharing nature and the outdoors with children is good thing. I also provide home school support, tutoring at all levels, and basic homework support. We have successfully home schooled our student through high school graduation. I foster independent learning, seeking, and growth. I encourage children to try, to make mistakes, and to problem solve to a solution. If parents choose to leave a list of basic chores for their children (swapping laundry, taking out trash, etc) that is wonderful. I just want parents to know their children are safe with me: I have a current back ground check on file with Maine State Police that includes valid and approved fingerprints. Above all, children need to feel nurtured and safe (emotionally and physically), in all services I provide, that is first and foremost.
Trust & safety
We encourage parents to conduct their own screenings using the background check tools. See what each of the badges covered, or learn more about keeping your family safe by visiting the Trust & Safety Center.
