As the eldest of three daughters, I have had plenty of experience with children younger than I. While having taken care of and watched my youngest sister (who I am seven years older than), I did not start officially babysitting other people's children until I was fourteen. Upon starting to watch others' children, I took the American Red Cross' babysitting course and got my certification. At fifteen I became Red Cross lifeguard, first aid, CPR, and AED certified. I have consistently renewed these certifications and currently hold all of four of them, in addition to being a Red Cross water safety instructor and swim coach. I spent last summer working at a children's day camp where I was the waterfront director, in charge of all aquatic activities. I find working with children to be the most enjoyable and rewarding activity out there and hope to spend my last summer before Read more I graduate college either nannying or babysitting full time. While I live in Maine, I plan on moving to New York this summer and will be available to work there.
