Hi, my name is Valerie and I am interested in part-time childcare work. I am a mom of 5 Vikings ( as my husband and I call them). My two oldest have moved out, and I have 2 in High School and 1 in Community College. I have been a stay-at-home mom for (most of) 23 yrs. I started following my kids to school, and volunteering in classrooms until the school finally hired me! When I realized that my kids would rather be with their friends I decided it was time to get out of the house. My neighbor agreed and offered me up as a nanny for friends of hers. I obtained my CPR certification and accepted a temporary Nanny position, part-time, for an infant. I so enjoyed my time with a little again! My position ended when circumstances changed and the family moved from the area. Since that first job, I’ve had a family in town for two days for work and hired me to care for their infant for a few days. Then two very lovely families who each only needed me part of the week became my primary jobs and kept my schedule full. Then it happened. A job offer for Husband, in Michigan. Since we are originally from Michigan, we made the very difficult decision to move. Yay Husband. Bummer to leave the families I had been a part of. Pre-Husband and Vikings, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Science at Central Michigan University. Being a bit of a wanderer, I found myself in Chicago working at an Ad Agency! My family and I moved to Greensboro about 8yrs ago, and loved having both mountains and Ocean available for our adventures. However, the never ending heat and humidity will not be missed. I enjoy getting outdoors daily, and perhaps it’s the Earth Science background, but I love taking the little ones outside and introducing them to the trees, flowers, birds, whatever we come across. Kids are such natural sponges, they soak it all in. Having the opportunity to smell or touch or hold something greatly improves their understanding of their environment.

Hi! My name is Katelyn Aylor and I am a sophomore at the University of Michigan. I have been babysitting and volunteering at a nursery since I was in middle school around and have taken care of up to 4 kids at a time! I have been trained in CPR and First aid and will soon be adding nursing assistant to that list! I love working with kids and have a goal to become a pediatric PA later in life! I have a love of children from growing up in a big family and being the oldest. Kids bring lots of happiness and make life more of an adventure. I like to make a difference and show the kids that we can always have fun and learn lots of new things. I have been working in daycares since 2018 and started nannying in December of 2022. Growing up in a large family, I learned to provide child care from a young age. I have always enjoyed the exuberance and innocence of young kids, and focused my career toward child care even since high school. I like assisting in the mental growth and development of the world’s future! I worked for the public school system in various positions over 6 years, primarily in elementary schools. I have been the lead Teacher’s Assistant in a daycare center and have been an active organizer in children’s programs, including Girl Scouts, as well as church youth groups. I have years experience caring for children, from infants to teens. I am infant and adult CPR and First Aid certified, and am certified through the State of Michigan in Nutrition, Food Safety and Sanitation. I have experience with medical support, such as insulin injections, disabled dependent care, and wound dressing. I have taken courses in childhood American Sign Language and Early Childhood Development, and have studied infant physical and speech therapy. For me, I have three grown children, aging 25-30. Hello! I am 19 years old and I’m currently attending MSU. My mother owned a daycare for 20+ years and I grew up taking care of other children.
