My name is Abigail and I am finishing my degree in Special Education at DePaul in June! I have passed both my Professional Educators Licensure (PEL) test and my Learning Behavior Specialist Endorsement test. I will be teaching in CPS next fall. I have nannied for 2 years cumulatively. I have worked with 3 families. My first job was with one 2 year old, my second with a 4 year old, 8 year old, and 12 year old, and my most recent was with a 6 and 7 year old. Through my field experience and student teaching, I have gained experience with kids of all ages. If you would like a reference, let me know! Last year, I nannied full time and worked with two girls (6 and 7) throughout their virtual school year. One of the girls was at risk for retention because of her difficulties reading, but after Read more working with her, I was able to get her up to grade level. Throughout my education, I have learned many research based academic and emotional approaches to working with children. If you don't use it, you lose it! So it is important for students to continue their education in fun ways throughout the summer. Having fun is one of my top priorities. I like to limit screen time and foster an environment for kids to be kids. I am kind, energetic, and creative. I am so excited for this summer and eager to hear from you! :)
