Hello! My name is Cat, and I have 20 years worth of childcare experience, as well as educating & working closely with children ages 0-17 throughout the years, via various careers and non-profit work. I worked as a Naturalist and Interpreter for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for 8 years, with my specialty revolving around developing/teaching youth-oriented educational programs, oftentimes outdoors. I have been regularly caring for families, often with multiple children, for nearly two decades. I speak, read, and write Spanish, and have taught it in the past to elementary aged children and older. I work with children year-round, outside of regular sitting jobs, as I co-run Girls Rock!Grand Rapids, a nonprofit organization run by women dedicated to empowering girls through music, as well as co-run The DAAC, an all-ages music & arts venue with a focus on developing and implementing accessible, creative and educational youth programming for Read more our community. I also work for local radio station WYCE, am a member of local nonprofit Avenue for the Arts, and am an avid believer in the benefits of exposing children to music and art, and encouraging them to use them as an outlet.
