Hi, My name is Tammy and I love taking care of children and watching them grow. I have been taking care of babies and children for 35 years. My husband of 24 years and I have 6 children who are almost all adults with two teenagers in high school. I have a bachelor degree in elementary education from Cornerstone University. Most of my pursuits have been with younger children and children with special needs. I have worked for many years as a nanny, stay at home mom, tutor, and preschool teacher. I love teaching children about nature, animals, books, reading, and art. I love being creative and coming up with new fun activities and ideas. Some of my activities the last few years involve teaching art classes and designing a sensory room at a camp, setting up and working in a nature preschool classroom, working with special needs kids with Read more medical issues and trauma, and being a resource for parents. I am very resourceful and an "out of the box" thinker. As a side job I tutored a student with autism and cognitive impairment for five years and came up with sensory and hands on activities to help him learn to read. I love working with babies and toddlers as well and have worked in infant and toddler rooms in daycare and churches. One of my favorite things right now is spending time with my two great nieces ages 2 and 3. I have a wide variety of interests such as nature hikes, art and Artprize, bird watching, sports, and books. One of things I value the most in life is working with people and children from diverse backgrounds and through a lens of compassion and understanding. Although I have many years of experience with people and children, I am also eager to learn more and see where life takes me.
