Caring for children fortunately started early for me, and I believe it helped make me who I am today. I was blessed to be born in to a large, but very close, extended family... being called for babysitting was a weekly occurrence from the age of 10 and I loved it! I was proud to be the "go to" babysitter, the babysitter who could get the young ones to use the "big kid potty", the babysitter who encouraged veggies, playing outside instead of watching a movie, and the babysitter who was first pick to call or be requested by kids! When I turned 13, my youngest sibling was born. With such an age gap, summer break 4 weeks after she arrived, and 2 parents who worked full time... I quickly became her "second mom" as she calls it, and spent sun up until sun down with her. She was and Read more still is my buddy... And also my encouragement to continue to be a great role model and leader. I feel it is Important to teach kids to have self value and respect at a young age. Aside being the go to nanny in the family, I was a day time babysitter, night time babysitter, over night sitter, chauffeur, house sitter, dog sitter, and cook for countless families that belong to the Country Club my mom Manages. Through high school I babysat regularly, and Through college I was a nanny full time for families with multiple children. I had the opportunity to work in a daycare, and did so for about 6 months before going back to nannying for a family in their home. After college, I accepted a position with a Corporation, and though I am grateful for that opportunity... It was not the best fit for me. My heart is in working with babies, toddlers, and children. With that said, I am eager to find the perfect family to care for again!
