Don't let my age (47) scare you... I am an active, healthy, adventurous soul. Just since turning 40 I have traveled to Africa to teach, where I also went diving with great white sharks, zip lining through the jungle, went on safari and skydiving. I also traveled to Indonesia where I studied yoga and taught English. Last year I completed 62 college credits! My greatest joy in life has been raising my own children and caring for others, including the 10 exchange students from around the world my family has hosted. Throughout my professional career I have had the opportunity to attend numerous trainings and seminars on child care and child development. I have been certified by both the Red Cross and the State of Michigan in first-aid and CPR. I have also been certified in child safety standards and mediation by the U.S. Department of State. During my career Read more with the Juvenile Court I have worked with numerous teachers, counselors and child care experts, and although there is no certificate for this, these years of experience have taught me invaluable lessons in child rearing and family care. Most importantly, I learned that no one knows the needs of the child as well as the parents, and I would hope to be an extension of your morals, values and beliefs for your children. In owning and managing my own business for the last 13 years I have learned time management, scheduling, organization and team building. These are assets that could prove to be very valuable in a busy, active household.
