Hello there, I'm Maija! I recently graduated from Kalamazoo Central in June 2023. I did temporarily work in ECSE as a para though I did have to resign due to issues in the workplace. I have been looking after my cousins since I was around the age of 10 but have been babysitting since the age of 13. I love to do arts and crafts. I try to incorporate learning into play if I am able. I am red cross babysitting certified which includes cpr and first aid. I am currently looking for some families to fill my schedule as I am hoping to work full time babysitting any nannying for various families. As I am currently awaiting my drivers license I am relying on Uber and walking to get me to and from families each day. My rate starts at $12 an hour for one child Please message me Read more if interested! Things I am comfortable with: - Pets such as Dogs, Fish, Most Reptiles, Small animals - Cooking or preparing simple meals - Helping with and laundry or dishes - Homework help - Helping with bedtime -After School Care. I live in the Westwood neighborhood of Kalamazoo. I am able to get kids off the bus or pick them up from school (King Westwood only for pickup) and stay with them until you get home. Note: I do not drive just yet though I will be licensed very soon. Things I am not able to do at the moment: - Cloth Diapers, I haven't had experience with them so at this time I'm not comfortable changing any cloth diapers. With that being said if you're willing to teach me how they work than I am more than willing to learn! - Being around cats or preparing food with peanuts as I am allergic to both of those things. - Caring for children with complex needs. I haven't had the proper training for caring with children who require things such as feeding tubes or insulin injections/corrections. Again I am more than willing to learn how to care for complex needs so as long as I am trained first I am willing to care for children requiring these things while in my care.
