Hi, my name is Adelyn! I'm a 21 year old college student looking for part-time or full-time nannying/caregiver job in the Grand Rapids area! I grew up with a big family including four siblings of my own and 60+ first cousins on my Mom's side. This being said, It became very natural for me to feel comfortable in taking care of children of all ages and engaging positively with them! Once I was able to start babysitting around the age of 14, I was eager to find little gigs around the neighborhood. I worked with three separate families in the neighborhood when they would need their occasional date night or needed to run errands, etc. One family with 4 kids ages 3-10, another had two kids ages 4-7, and the other with two kids ages 6mo-4. This included picking them both up from their schools, taking them home to eat, work on/finish homework, change, and then drop them off at their after-school practices. I helped this family for two years before they moved to a different state. When I was 18 I started with a new family who had two kids, ages 6 and 11. This job included before & after-school care. I would arrive before the kids woke up and prepare them breakfast, prepare their lunches for school, and make sure their backpacks are situated with what they needed for that day! I would drop them off at school and pick them back up when their school day ended. I would make them a snack/dinner depending on how late I would be staying and make sure the house was cleaned up and the dishes were done. I nannied for them in the summer as well which included full days. I would be there anywhere from 5-12 hours a day. This would include preparing food, engaging in fun and educational activities, pick-up and drop-off for certain activities, going to the pool, light-housekeeping, errands, etc. I worked with this family for two years before leaving for college! The most recent family I helped was during this past school year. They have two kids ages 2 and 5. I would be there 2 days a week for about 6 hours each day. This role included preparing food, engaging in fun and educational activities, housekeeping, prepping bags and snacks for swim lessons, and helping the mom with her newborn baby! I wouldn't trade this job for the world. Each family has taught me so much about what it means to care for children and this has went on to teach me so much about myself! I truly love working with kids and how happy it makes me. It is so rewarding and I never knew how much I had to learn from them. I am so excited to continue working as a nanny and am so excited to find another family who may need my help! Thank you for your consideration.:)
