I have three sisters, and grew up in a very close-knit neighborhood, so I have had many odd babysitting jobs. I studied fine arts, with a focus on graphic design, at EMU, and graduated in 2013. Since then, I also received a certification in TEFL, and taught for a year in South America. I have been working in the service industry on and off as a server/bartender since I was a young teenager. I recently decided to go back to school for a degree in early childhood education, but will not be starting classes until the fall of 2017. My journey in teaching abroad, and my years of random babysitting jobs, brought me to the realization that spending time with the young folks, and helping them on their educational path, is what I am truly passionate about and, at the end of the day, makes me feel excited to one Read more day soon call a career. Nothing makes me happier than hanging out with some cool kids and watching them grow in both a cognitive and imaginative way. I love pets, especially dogs, and have grown up in a house that isn't a home without a pup. I love to read, write, draw, paint, run, practice yoga, swim, rock climb, explore the outdoors and experiment with any and all hands-on-DIY-craftsy sorts of projects. I am energetic, reliable, honest, mature, and like to think I know how to handle almost any situation that comes up, whether planned or unexpected. I am currently looking for a course to become certified in CPR, and will update my profile as soon as I have received the state certificate.
