Hello, My name is Angela and I cherish children of all ages. My experience consists of being a mom myself to two children for more than twenty years, watching and caring for the children from nine differen families throughout my lifetime, a Child Life volunteer at Helen De Vos Children's Hospital, a room mother for one year at Kalamazoo Chiristian West Elementary School, caring for infants and children in three church nurseries, and an Assistant Teacher at KinderCare Education. I believe that children thrive best when trust is established through a caring and responsive relationship with a caregiver that takes the time to get to know the child / children through active listening, interactive play, teaching, reading, and attentiveness to each child's specific needs. Before I became a mother I studied developmental psychology and had the opportunity to learn the successive stages of child development, preceeded with several years experience Read more as a neighborhod babysitter. Sunsequently, my own children taught me the most about how much I loved the role of being their parent and caretaker. As my children grew older, I had the time to help mothers' who had younger children within larger families and needed the help with childcare. Moreover, most recently, as an assistant teacher I ganied additional experience caring for multiple chilren at once, helping them on both an individual as well as a collective level; this gave me the opportunity to best see how they could connect not only with me but with one another in unique ways. I hope you will consider me as an experienced, enthusiastic, and responsive caregiver.
