I have previous and recent experience with children, babies and pets and consider myself a very aware and nurturing caregiver. When I found myself out of a job at the apex of the financial crisis, I immediately sought out a volunteer position with children where I could be of some use. I joined up with the Detroit Public Schools (DPS) Reading Corps Volunteers and have worked with DPS Pre-K for six years in that capacity. As a social worker I had First Aid and CPR training regularly, although not current. I would be willing and interested in taking an updated course. I have also taken an interest in children and babies in donating to charitable causes to aid them and assist indirectly by shopping for clothes, toys, puzzles, books, music etc for many years, including Children's Hospital Adopt a Family Program, Giving Tree, Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity, Since Read more I enjoy the time spent with children so much, I have been working part time as a babysitter/nanny for the past 2 years. I currently work on Mondays weekly with a 3 y/o and 5 y/o. I would like to add 1-2 days to work preferably Tues, Thurs and Fri. I have worked for several other families with ages ranging from babies and toddlers to gradeschool. I am flexible in days and times and available for parents night out or filling in temporary.
