Hi all! My name is Maija and I am I 19 year old babysitter/nanny in Kalamazoo Michigan. I graduated in 2023 from Kalamazoo Central. In October 2023 I was a short term paraprofessional in an autism classroom with children ages 2.5-4.5. I have worked for various families with children ranging in age from 6 months to 12 years. I have experience with home education as I did online schooling for most of high school through KPS. When babysitting one of my cousins we go on lots of adventures. We walk since I live half a mile from lots of stores. We recently visited the museum as well which was a fun adventure. Note: I currently am not licensed. I have had a permit for the last few years but haven't taken the road test. I am planning on taking it in the next few months. When babysitting close family, I do walk with the children to stores or take Uber/Metro to farther away destinations. I am willing on taking children on adventures with proper consent and paperwork from the parents. I am also red cross safe swim certified. I have a passion for working with children with autism and helping them learn. I know loads about PECS and nonverbal communication.
