Hi there! My name is Danielle. I am 27 years young and I have been working with children for over 10 years now. I would like to attribute my earliest knowledge and experience to my mother, a natural born Suzy Homemaker. My mother gracefully bestowed upon me her passion for cooking, cleaning, arts/crafts, and child rearing. She taught me how to sew, garden, fold a fitted sheet, and French braid hair. I started babysitting for family and friends while in middle school. In high school I spent two years studying child care and development. I received my first nanny position at the age of sixteen. After high school, I went on to college, initially to obtain a degree in education. However, my academic interests changed drastically over the years. I switched my major a number of times, having tried my hand in social work, and then obtaining my certification as Read more a pharmacy technician. I love to learn. I have always been intrigued by so many unfamiliar subjects that I insisted on taking every opportunity to delve a little deeper into different areas of interest. Still, I always seem to find myself back in the same place; working with children. Throughout the years I have cared for children as young as four months up to about twelve years of age. Currently, I am most interested in caring for infants and toddlers. It is as equally challenging as it is rewarding, and no amount of practice could ever be too much. I have experience with bottle feeding, diaper changing, swaddling, bathing, burping, and comforting infants. I am big on reading, and music. Taking walks. For toddlers and the big kids I believe in staying active, getting outside, eating healthy, and always learning. But you have to know how to make learning fun! Some things I really love are animals, science, and music. Arts and crafts, too. I love all things pink and girly, but I’m not afraid to play in the dirt, jump in puddles, and come complete with ample knowledge of most super heroes and their arch enemies. I occasionally like to play video games and enjoy all the entertainment my iPad has to offer, but believe technology is best in moderation.
