I believe children should feel safe, secure, and cared for with their caregiver. Children should be treated with respect and dignity, with their feelings considered. The child's social and emotional growth and development should also be encouraged. The caregiver should be consistent with the children so children feel secure and know what to expect. I believe in verbal redirection and distraction so a discipline situation can be avoided. If the need for discipline arises, the parental guidelines will be implemented. I do not believe in physical punishment or emotional badgering, humiliation or belittling. I have been CPR and First Aid certified and am willing to renew it. I treat every child in my care as if they were my own and always put the child's needs first. I am also available on weekend evenings. I like to spend my free time with my puppy, family, and friends. I enjoy activities Read more such as: music, fishing, swimming, boating, winter sports, cooking, reading, art, horseback riding, and going to the movies. I've been employed since age 15, own my own car, and have references available. I started babysitting at age 11. Since that time, I've had the opportunity to work as a live-in nanny for a family with premature twins on cardiac monitors. I've worked for a family with five children ranging in age from newborn to 9. I have stayed overnight and weekends when parents were out of town. I have experience with hyperactive, sensory sensitive and learning disabled children. Other experience includes premature infant twins, triplets, and children up to age 15. I also volunteered as a teaching assistant in a local elementary school. I have specialized training for adoption and post institutionalized children. I have extensive experience with infants and newborns. I enjoy children of all ages. I believe the key to a great working relationship is honesty, open communication, and mutual respect between all! I also have experience with personal assistant and household management tasks. I'd be willing to work with one family full time or two families part time. I have an amazing, energetic, smart little boy that will turn 5 in December. I am looking for a family that is welcoming and ok with my son coming occasionally. He currently comes babysitting/nannying with me to other families. I am looking forward to forming a partnership with an easy going, honest, and moral family!
