Hi! My name is Kimberly and I have professionally been working in childcare for over 13 years. I began babysitting when I was 11 or 12 and when I was 18 I started working professionally with children with special needs. Over the years I have gained experience working in home with children with special needs as well as, for a lack of a better word, neurotypical children. I worked primarily in homes for about 9 years but transitioned into schools and center based care the last few years so I had a place to take my son. When covid hit I became the school age teacher helping multiple children navigate their distance learning platforms and assist with any questions or issues they may have. Through the center I am working for, I was able to complete all of my course work for my early childhood development associate credential. Unfortunately due to covid I have not been able to complete my observations or testing to obtain the actual certificate, but I have completed 150 of the 120 required hours of class work towards that credential. As much as I love my center and the children at the center, more individualized care is truly where my heart lies. I love being able to make more personal, long lasting connections with the children in my care and really helping the family as a whole.
