I grew up watching and helping my 8 years younger sibling and helping out at my aunts in home daycare. Worked at a daycare for just under 2 years and am currently a SPED Para. I am patient and don't do the work for them just guide them in the right direction and celebrate them when they finally get it. Helping children figure things out was the highlight of my day seeing them break through their struggles. When kids are worked up I get them to do deep breathing eith me until they are calm. Once they are calm I address the problem and and them their view. If they start getting worked up again I go back to deep breathing. I try my best to rectify whatever the problem was or help them find a way to move on if theirs no good solution. Sometimes they just need to Read more be heard and/or get a hug. Patience is needed because they wont alway understand right away and you have to give them time. I am told by many residents at my nursing home job they like me so much because of the patience I have with them and I listen. I love crafts, playing outdoors, playing board or card games, cooking or baking, and reading with the kids.
