After my "journalism" career (too many ad agencies and a faltering book industry), I began working with children, the elderly, and pets. Being a trusted, reliable presence in their lives provides a life balance that I enjoy, and utilizing a care provider with a good attitude is beneficial for everyone involved. For a few years (until I broke my arm skiing on too much ice), I worked part-time as a CNA (Cert. Nursing Assistant), but began spending more time as a substitute for teachers and paraprofessionals in local schools. When Covid came along, I teamed up with a family who wanted to keep a close watch on safety for their premature baby. I was lucky to find a temporary position that allowed me to return to this family to care for their second child, who is now in pre-school (I still babysit on their "date nights." I have raised two sons, one diagnosed with ADHD and the other with Asperger Syndrome (a high-functioning form of autism), conditions that often swim in the same genetic pool. I played on their strengths when offering activity choices to them, and today they are both doing well as young adults following their own career paths. When my children were very young, I taught Sunday school to grade-school-aged children while running a licensed in-home childcare center. I love to do individual outdoor activities that match the weather, although walking my shared Corgi must happen regardless of temperature or precipitation. I tend to eat very well -- my goal is to retain as much of my physical, spiritual, and mental health as possible. I love sharing this knowledge with little ones and helping them to grow into who they were meant to become.

I have nannied and babysat for many families over the past 10 years! Most families I have sat for, are regular basis. I am cpr/aed and first aid certified. I have over 5 years of professional childcare under my belt as well! I’m very fun and playful, so I can be the perfect buddy for your little one!

I recently moved to Hugo after living in South Dakota for many years. While there, I consistently babysat for a family with five children, ranging in age from a newborn to 10 years old, multiple times a week for four years. I’m currently a senior in high school and truly miss spending time caring for kids. I’m available Monday through Friday starting in the early afternoon (about noon), and I’m also free on weekends. Now that all my boys are in school, I have some open time. I was a teacher for 14 years. I taught private kindergarten, first, second, and 3rd grade. I was A stay at home Mom for 6 years. Now I have decided to fo back to school to be a paramedic and am currently enrolled in school. 90% of it is online and at my own pace so I can work around any time I am needed. Lol) We have a golden retriever her name is Rosie she is a crisis response animal sometimes when bad situations happens like school shootings, mass shootings, natural disasters, hospital visits and nursing home visits we will get dispatched out and we hop on a plane and go help out and share the love and support of a golden to help people feel better. Our rosie girl just turned 10 so we don't travel far as often anytime unless there was a big need for ALOT of Goldens.
