Meet Meghan

Hello! My name is Meg : ) I am a 24 year old freelance artist based in Minneapolis! I have received my BFA from the University of Wisconsin Madison with a minor in Children's Art Education, and have 3 years of childcare/teaching experience. For as long as I can remember I have always received such joy from working with children. As soon as I was old enough I would watch my younger cousins for family members and keep them occupied with playing pretend, experimenting with art projects, and spending plenty of time exploring outside. Prior to my college degree I nannied mostly for one family. I watched two girls around the ages of seven and nine, helping out full time during the summer months and part-time during the school year. This included picking them up from school and taking them to activities that they were apart of, making dinner in Read more the evening, and spending time with them while their parents were away. Over the years I developed a close bond with them and I still see them from time to time, which is why I think it is so important to find a good fit with any nanny family. Children deserve to grow up around people they feel comfortable and safe with so they are able to be the fullest versions of themselves! For the last year I have been working with kids as an art teacher at a local children's art studio. The children at this job fell in a wide range between ages 3-12. I have loved this job as it has not only allowed me to further my experience in the daily care of children, it has also allowed me to integrate my love of teaching art and helping creative expression thrive. This job made me realize that I want to go back to school to get my Masters in Art Therapy. I think art is a powerful tool for self-love, and I appreciate the experience to share that with anyone I meet. I would love the opportunity to work with your kids in whatever capacity you need; keeping them on schedule while also celebrating the joy and creativity that exists in the tasks of everyday life!
