Over the last four summers working as a summer camp counselor, I have found incredible joy in developing relationships with children. I have worked with 10, 11, 12, 15, and 16-year-old kids, helping them learn crucial skills in their social interactions, along with helping them have the best summer ever. Whether it be playing frisbee or swimming in the lake, I've loved having the opportunity to interact with, laugh with, and learn from the children I have been a counselor for. Last summer, I was a counselor for the oldest group of kids at my camp (15 and 16-year-olds), with a group of other highly experienced counselors. At the end of the summer, I was awarded the Fadem/Raizen Excellence in Leadership Award for my leadership and positive role-modeling for staff and campers alike. I have experience working one-on-one with children through the mentoring program Project Friendship at my school. Every Read more week for the past three years I have spent time with a student in the Northfield Elementary Schools. We normally spend time playing sports or games. It's been incredible getting to know him over my time in college. I am a film studies major at Carleton College. I love to go hiking, camping, and biking. In my free time, I practice my cello and guitar, or play frisbee with friends. I run a radio show every week, and love all different kinds of music. I'm very active, have a lot of energy, and love running around with hyper and excited kids. I am not CPR certified.
