Hi my name is Courtney! I am 25 years old and currently work full time at Hobby Lobby. My first job at 16 was working at a daycare, and while there I was a "floater". So I would come in from school and prepare the kids snacks while they slept and clean the kitchen. Once were awake I would be asked to go into certain rooms and help as a teachers aide with the children. I helped with infants, toddlers, and my number one spot was with the older kids. The daycare I worked changed from Maple Grove Academy to New Horizon, so during the change I got another job and unfortunately only had 1 year of paid experience. Any other time I watched kids it was for free. My mom would often get asked by my friend to take care of her infant children. The first born became my Read more moms godson, and the second baby became my goddaughter, so I was around everytime the kids were, then of course we tag teamed another infant from a separate woman.It was pretty exhausting because it felt like those kids actually lived with us at one point, but being there to see them roll over and finally start to walk made it all worth it. A few years ago while working at Sam's Club I had a customer that I was helping to ring out start a conversation with me, and after speaking she asked that I apply to be her kids babysitter based off of a 5 minute talk.Unfortunately I didn't have a car and had to decline, but as of 2021 I finally got my car! I hope that in the future I will become a registered nurse since I have had a desire to help people since i was a Junior High. I'm hoping that my lack of unpaid experience doesn't stop me from getting a nanny position, because I am willing to do the work to help make your life easier and put on smile on those kids faces. How will you know if I can do the job if I don't get a chance? The answer is, you won't. Lastly my dog Mojo is my ESA, and I would love nothing more than to be able to bring him along with me since I have some anxiety about leaving him in a apartment by himself all day. I would have whatever child I'm am caring for come on walk with me and mojo for fresh air rather than staying in the home all day. Mojo if friendly to kids and may even ignore them and sleep.
