I am a teacher at a middle school in Minneapolis. I graduated with a degree in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin-- Madison. Throughout my education, I've learned about child development, behavior management, and academic instruction. Four summers ago, I worked at an in-home daycare and the children ranged in ages of infancy to adolescence. Three summers ago, I was a nanny for a toddler in the Madison area. Two summers ago, I was a nanny for two boys, 4 and 7 years old. I have provided respite care to two women and tutored. Last summer, I was a nanny for a family with three middle schoolers. I like to be active, go to parks, libraries, and pools. In addition, my education background has provided me the tools to tutor and prepare children for school. I am extremely patient and positive. Carolyn cared for our two active boys (4 & 7) full time, for the summer. She was firm but still incredibly patient and kind with our kids. They simply fell in love with her! Her duties included basic care, driving them to and from activities, preparing meals, light clean up, nap times and play time. She also did some evenings that included bathing and bedtime routines. What I appreciated the most about Carolyn was that she is an excellent self starter. She sought out a wide variety of activities geared to our kids interests. She really made their summer special. Additionally, we were in the middle of a lot of chaos this summer - with a major move and home construction. Carolyn was both flexible and graceful in handling some rather challenging situations. She carried it all with stride and maintained consistency for our boys in a every changing situation. I only wish she didn't have to return to school this fall! I would hire her again in a heartbeat.
